Long Term Spain

Long term rentals in Guadalmina

Guadalmina lies on the western edge of San Pedro de Alcántara, in Marbella, beside the Guadalmina river. Guadalmina Baja runs down to a Blue Flag beach, and Guadalmina Alta sits north of the A-7 around the golf club's Norte course. Homes are mostly villas, townhouses and low-rise apartments in quiet residential streets. A small shopping centre, a bilingual school and San Pedro's health centre are a few minutes away, which suits families and people working from home.

The state gazette (BOE) published the environmental approval for phase 1 of a plan to stabilise the 3.5 km of coast between the Guadalmina and Guadaiza rivers, including Guadalmina, Linda Vista and San Pedro beaches. It foresees five groynes of 90 to 260 m and 151,045 m³ of new sand. Works are estimated at 9 months, with no noisy beach works from June to October. No start date has been announced.

  2. Bigger Hospital Costa del Sol

The public hospital in Marbella, the reference hospital for San Pedro, officially opened an extension of more than €100 million: 16 new operating theatres, a radiotherapy and nuclear medicine unit, an assisted reproduction unit and new outpatient clinics.

  3. New lifeguard posts and assisted bathing

Marbella is replacing all 17 lifeguard posts on its coast, Guadalmina included. Lifeguards work weekends from Easter, then daily 11:00 to 20:00 from 1 June to the end of September. Nine assisted bathing points with amphibious chairs run from Cabopino to Guadalmina; booking on the free line 658 618 333.

  5. Work starts on San Pedro's music and dance school

Building work began on the Escuela Municipal de Música y Danza in the south of San Pedro. The €6.5 million building will have 14 music and 7 dance classrooms and a 120-seat hall, and will offer official elementary music and dance courses. Completion is planned for the end of 2027.

  6. Site cleared for a San Pedro bus station

The town hall began clearing an 8,100 m² plot by the A-7 and A-397 (Ronda road) junction for a €1.5 million bus interchange, to be built and run by the Junta. It will have six bus bays, a passenger building, taxi ranks and parking. The tender is expected between late 2026 and early 2027, with completion due in 2027.
