Long term rentals in Marbella East: Elviria and Las Chapas

Marbella East runs from Los Monteros to Cabopino, with Elviria and Las Chapas at its heart. It suits families and remote workers who want space, pine trees and quiet beaches, about 15 minutes from Marbella town. Homes are mostly villas, townhouses and apartments in gated complexes, many with a shared pool. Supermarkets, a public GP centre, international schools and Hospital Costa del Sol are all close by.

Alrededor de Marbella East

Elviria and Las Chapas are the green, low-rise east side of Marbella, between Los Monteros and Cabopino. Homes are mostly villas, townhouses and apartment complexes under pine trees, close to wide dune beaches. Supermarkets, a new public GP centre and several international schools are within 5 minutes, and Hospital Costa del Sol about 8.

For families

  • International schools close by: English International College (British, ages 3 to 18), Colegio Las Chapas (Attendis, IB programmes) and Deutsche Schule Málaga (German) in the Elviria hills.
  • Public secondary: IES Dunas de las Chapas on Calle La Hacienda, with canteen and school transport.
  • Beaches with a 2026 Blue Flag: Cabopino and Los Monteros. The Artola dunes beside Cabopino are a protected natural monument with a boardwalk.
  • A heated municipal pool next to the health centre is being finished; check with the town hall before planning swimming lessons.

Getting around

  • Most daily trips are by car along the A-7. Marbella old town is about 14 min, Puerto Banús about 19 and Málaga airport about 51.
  • Fuengirola, with its train station to Málaga, is about 24 min east by car.

  1. New public GP centre opens in Las Chapas

    The new Consultorio Las Chapas on Calle La Hacienda has 12 consulting rooms on 527 m², five times the old space in the district office. It added a paediatric clinic and occupational therapy, so children no longer need to go to Las Albarizas. It is expected to serve more than 12,500 residents.

  2. Hospital Costa del Sol extension opens

    The public hospital that serves Marbella East opened its extension of more than €100 million: 16 operating theatres, radiotherapy and nuclear medicine, day hospitals and an assisted reproduction unit. It added 276 healthcare posts.

  3. Las Chapas covered pool in its final stretch

    Marbella is roofing and enclosing the new municipal pool next to the Las Chapas health centre. It is a heated 25 by 12.5 m pool for children, older people and therapy, with a multipurpose room for classes. The town hall had planned it to be fully open in April 2026. No opening date was given in April.

  4. Cabopino and Los Monteros keep their Blue Flags

    Eight Marbella beaches have a Blue Flag in 2026. In Marbella East these are Cabopino and Los Monteros (Adelfas). Artola, Elviria and El Alicate are not on the list.

  5. Las Dunas licence and sewer works in Las Chapas

    The town hall approved the urbanisation licence for Las Dunas, a hotel plot of more than 160,000 m² on the Las Chapas seafront. The developers pay for dune restoration, new drainage, cycle lanes, footpaths and a bridge to Golden Beach. Separately, sewer works on Calle Salvador Dalí and Calle Pablo Picasso were due to start on 18 May for about two months.
