Long term rentals on the Golden Mile, Marbella

The Golden Mile (Milla de Oro) runs along the coast between Marbella town and Puerto Banús. It suits families and couples who want beaches, international schools and shops within a short drive. Homes range from apartments in gated beachside complexes to villas in Nagüeles and Sierra Blanca on the hill side. Puerto Banús and Marbella old town are each about 9 minutes away by car.

Around Golden Mile

The Golden Mile is the strip between Marbella town and Puerto Banús, with Nagüeles and Sierra Blanca on the hill side and beach complexes below the main road. Families get two international schools in Nagüeles, Blue Flag beaches and a pine park within a few minutes. Supermarkets, Puerto Banús and Marbella old town are 5 to 10 minutes by car, and the public hospital about 11.

  • Padrón and town hall paperwork: Oficina de Atención al Ciudadano, Plaza de los Naranjos, Marbella old town. Tel. 952 761 100, by appointment.
  • Office hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 to 14:00, plus Tuesday and Thursday afternoons (16:30 to 19:30 outside summer).
  • Public GP: the SAS assigns your health centre by address when you register. Centro de Salud Leganitos in Marbella centre is about 6 min away.
  • Births and emergencies: Hospital Costa del Sol, about 11 min. Private: Quirónsalud Marbella, with 24-hour emergencies, about 7 min.

For families

  • British International School of Marbella: ages 2 to 18, British curriculum, two campuses in Nagüeles (main campus Calle Teba 4).
  • Swans International School: ages 3 to 18, IGCSE and the IB Diploma. Its secondary campus is in Sierra Blanca.
  • Aloha College in Nueva Andalucía, about 6 min west: ages 3 to 18, British curriculum then IB or A-Levels.
  • Public schools are in Marbella town, such as IES Guadalpín for secondary. Applications from age 3 run 1 to 31 March.
  • Parque de Nagüeles in Sierra Blanca has pine woods, a playground and a barbecue area.

Getting around

  • The Bulevar Príncipe Alfonso de Hohenlohe (old N-340) is the main road, with the A-7 and AP-7 junctions just above it.
  • Puerto Banús and Marbella old town are each about 9 min by car. Málaga airport is about 51 min.
  • The seafront promenade runs about 6 km from Marbella's marina to Puerto Banús, passing the Golden Mile beaches.

What changed nearby in 2026

  1. Golden Mile road to be resurfaced

    The town council approved €465,000 to resurface the old N-340 on the Golden Mile, between the Swedish Forestry Centre and the Ashmawi roundabout. The work covers about 3 km of the four-lane road in eight sections, to improve grip and road safety. No start date was given.

  2. Council asks for better A-7 noise screens

    Marbella asked the Ministry of Transport to finish and improve the noise screens being built along the A-7 through the town. They run for more than 6 km and reach up to 4.5 m high. Residents had raised noise during the works and the visual impact. The council also wants planting and a cleaning plan.

  3. 25 protected homes at Arroyo Palomera

    The council is processing 25 protected homes at Arroyo Palomera, on the Golden Mile, in one three-storey block with a pool and garages. Each has three bedrooms. Half are for young people. Applicants had to be on the municipal housing register by 1 October, and a public draw is planned before the end of 2026.

  4. Safer access road to Parque de Nagüeles

    The council widened the verges of Camino de la Mina, the main road up to the Nagüeles park and auditorium, cleared vegetation and removed unsafe trees. The aim was to lower fire risk and give fire engines better access. Work began in late July and the council reported it finished on 3 September.

  5. Blue Flags for Nagüeles-Casablanca and La Fontanilla

    Marbella has eight Blue Flag beaches in 2026. Two are on or next to the Golden Mile: Nagüeles-Casablanca and La Fontanilla. Puerto Banús marina also kept its Blue Flag.

  6. Hospital Costa del Sol extension opens

    The public hospital that serves Marbella opened its full extension, adding about 40,000 m². It brings 16 operating theatres, a radiotherapy and nuclear medicine unit, day hospitals and an assisted reproduction unit. The investment was over €100 million.
